Join us in a once in the lifetime tour of some of the old former breweries located in Galena. Galena was the first mineral rush city in the U.S. back in the 1820s.

It grew rapidly as the regional capitol of lead mining, the largest riverboat port north of St. Louis, and a prominent brewing town of the era - with 9 operating breweries in the 1800s. Sadly, only a few of those 9 breweries are still standing, but we have secured permission to tour three of those breweries which are now privately owned and serve as either a private residence or business location.

You will begin your tour at the new Galena Brewery located on Main Street then board a shuttle bus that will take you to these 19th century Galena breweries and tour the first three with commentaries:

the Fulton Brewery on Spring Street, the Specht Brewery on Dodge Street, the City Brewery on Spring Street, the Houy & Metzgar Brewery on Third Street.

You will then return to the Galena Brewery for a beer tasting paired with some of our great tapas items.
