One of the earliest styles of rock and roll music, rockabilly found its roots in the south during the mid 1950s. It mixes elements of rock, jump blues, boogie woogie and western swing to form driving, danceable rhythms and was made popular by such artists as Carl Perkins, Johnny Burnette, Gene Vincent, Wanda Jackson and a young Elvis Presley.
